Regarding video submission
Hi shawni,
Actually, I want to know that as there was nothing mentioned regarding the youtube video that we have to attach to the lensathon project. I understand and have seen that all the participants have attached a 10-second preview video to their lenses. The preview video is basically for the users (Snapchat users) so that they can view the video before actually trying out the lens.
But as the lens is part of the event, the judges can access our devpost submissions and will go through the entire documentation that we have provided. And I bet, everyone will agree with me that if we have made a lens after so much hard work then it is customary to give a demonstration video alongside the textual documentation because seeing things practically explains them the best.
That's why, not only me, but almost 90% of the participants had attached a youtube/vimeo video of more than 30 seconds (some even range to 7 minutes).
So, I just want to request that please make sure that the judges for the sake of understanding the lens thoroughly, must view the video once/twice. Because if they don't view the videos, then it would be very disappointing.
Viewing a video that's completely related to the lens makes all sense and there is no discrimination with anyone in doing that.
Moreover, a submission having a YouTube video only aids the judges in evaluation and I think the more things will be there, they will only help judges in deciding the winners of this highly priced event.
It is a deep humble request and I guess every other participant will agree with me.
Waiting for your response and fellow participants' responses

Hi there,
Videos in addition to your Lens Previews were not required and this is supplemental material for your submission. Judges will review the necessary materials in your submissions. Best of luck!

Ok. So, it's like the additional information that one attached while submitting. It's upto the judges whether they will see it or not?
One more query, many participants either didn't attached the preview video or the lens url and in some cases, they have provided either of the missing information after 5-6 days in the comment section.
And was far as I know, the judges can't see the comments section.
Moreover, as they have submitted the missing information after the event ended, so yet, will they be requested to provide the lens video or the lens url?
Because that don't sound legit.
PS: I didn't event corrected my lens name. It was meant to be ML PAT: The OG Lens whereas due to a typo it became ML PAT LF22. And due to the boundations of the event I didn't corrected that.
Fun fact is that the judges can't see the last edited date of the lens, but yet I didn't changed a thing after the event.
I hope that will be strictly followed
